Most of my doctoral degree was done at SFU but I graduated in 2014 at UVIC. I was born in Kamloops but have lived more than half of my life on Vancouver Island. I was a single mother and taught in universities and colleges on and off Vancouver Island for 15 years. I was pleased to have thousands of students and share/discuss possibilities and theory with them. Now, I am into dance arts, consulting and being an independent researcher. My PhD was in African democracy with a concentration on Uganda. I have since connected this politics with Indigenous politics in Canada and have begun some very fruitful research on our international systems of power and governance. I am now working with my mentor Dr. Rudolph Ryser to conveve the Congress of Nations and States in 2022.
Being a single mom and getting through teaching and a degree was challenging and very rewarding!
I am proud to be Arjun Singh's sister and Dr. Gur and Manju Singh's daughter!
I was so happy to marry Alastair Colston McCollum on July 19th, 2019
